Autism Visual Schedule

Project: This project is personal for me. My daughter has Aspberger’s (autism level 1) and ADHD. She needs a constant visual aide to stay on target and on task. Through therapy and trial and error, we were able to determine that the best type of schedule is one that has simple and easy icons. Puzzles being one of her favorite activities, I used bright colors for day and darker tones for the evening, making the pieces easy to place in the proper order. Having a special needs child takes some outside-the-box thinking sometimes and I am so glad this visual schedule made things easier for her to stay on task.
